Mystic Aquarium

We met Grammy Lin and the self styled King of America (aka Grampa) at the Mystic aquarium on Saturday. It was a perfect day to be outside and we took our time strolling around the outdoor exhibits. This is a great little aquarium. It's not huge, but what they do have seems to be done quite well. Their marquee animals are a pair of beluga whales and one enormous stellar sea lion named (quite appropriately) Kodiak.

The whales are in a large pool in the middle of the grounds. One wall of the pool is made of Plexiglas and the sidwalkdips down, so the whales are at eye-level. Chris would have spent all day just watching the pair swim laps. Frankly, Chris would have spent all day at any one exhibit.

The real camera is still in the shop, so all I've got are snaps from a camera phone. I didn't even try to take pictures of the animals.
