Still here
I know all the posts are about Chris right now. Don't worry, Alex is still here. He just doesn't do much yet. You can just assume that any given day goes something like this:

April showers
The gorgeous weather of the last week or two has been replaced by lots of rain and grey. Chris doesn't seem phased in the least and insists on going outside in all weather. Yesterday, we had a nice little 1/2 mile walk in the woods across the street.
Today, Chris walked Joey down by the pond.
P.S. It seems flickr has solved my video hosting problems. They only take 90s clips, but we don't have much that's longer than that.

New new camera
Last month we bought a new camera because the screen on the Elph had gotten cracked. I have no idea how. Not that I can't imagine how, but I don't know how to choose among the myriad possibilities. I sat on it? I dropped it? Chris dropped it? Chris stepped on it? It got crushed in the diaper bag? ...
It was a good little camera, but we replaced it with a Nikon Coolpix instead of another Canon. I'm not really sure why, I think it had to do with price. In an apparent effort to solve the broken Canon mystery via re-enactment, I sat down in the hall with the new phone in my back pocket. Fortunately, we paid extra for the klutz coverage. Three weeks later, Best Buy calls to say they can't fix it and we can come pick out a new one.
I can now go back to filly Mandy's hard drive with hi-res photos of Chris doing nothing. Like this one, which I took only to try out the new-new camera:
As a bonus, I found pictures of wild turkeys on the memory card from the broken Nikon. Christopher spotted them in the street out front and I pointed the broken camera at them and took a bunch of shots. Without a viewfinder and half a screen, I was relying on volume to get me a good picture. I didn't succeed until they were at the bottom of the hill.

Hoodsie Cup
Christopher played with some ice cream after dinner last night.
He's not a big fan of the stuff right now. We had him at the grocery store last week when all the samples were out and he kept going back for the hummus and cheddar. He had no interest in the ice cream.
This clip isn't hosted on YouTube. I discovered a couple sites that let you upload clips and edit them online. Oddly, this is faster than using iMovie on my powerbook, because iMovie wants to convert everything to a high quality raw format for editing which is very slow. I played with JumpCut and JayCut and liked them both. The former is a Yahoo property and claimed to have a button to publish to Blogger (a Google creation). There is a button. It doesn't seem to work. JayCut lets you download edited movies, which is nice, but the provided embed URL didn't work with Blogger. I guess that's why they are both still in beta.
So, for now, I'm using Jumpcut by manually copying the URL.
