Potty break!

WhenYouGottaGo

Here is another good video of Chris. With the rare string of sunny days, we spent as much time outside as possible this weekend. Since Chris is learning to go without diapers, we brought a potty seat outside to help his chances.

We started about a week and a half ago. He was most of the way there by the middle of last week, but we keep pushing our luck and he'd have an accident every couple of days. But he's on a pretty good run lately.

He's still in an overnight diaper, but they've been dry most nights. We're just chicken.

Videos galore

I went through a back log of photos and videos last night and uploaded them this morning. The videos go back to May. Here is one from Sunday when the cousins were over. The four boys played really well together all day.

Alex and Liam went down for naps first, and when Chris finally did, he asked if Kevin was going to be playing with his toys.
"Will Kevin play with my Legos?"
"Maybe."
"Will Kevin watch George?"
"Probably."

Finally, he came to:
"Will Kevin be here when I wake up?"
"Yes."
"OK."
With that, he went right to sleep.

Moss Hunter

While exploring the woods across the street with the boys and Joey, I carelessly poked at a mossy mound that was probably once a tree stump. Alex, Joey, and I were waiting for Chris, who had stopped to try to pick up a log half his size. With Alex in the Snugli, I had to kneel to reach the ground since bending over would result in a screaming baby and a week of back pain. When Chris finally caught up, I stood to continue, and he promptly knelt right where I had been and started poking the mound. I told him he was playing with moss and wandered a few steps farther down the trail. Before I knew it, Chris was pointing out every clump of moss he could find.

PS: Sorry about the format. I apparently had iMovie set in widescreen mode.

April showers

The gorgeous weather of the last week or two has been replaced by lots of rain and grey. Chris doesn't seem phased in the least and insists on going outside in all weather. Yesterday, we had a nice little 1/2 mile walk in the woods across the street.

Today, Chris walked Joey down by the pond.

P.S. It seems flickr has solved my video hosting problems. They only take 90s clips, but we don't have much that's longer than that.

Stuff I found on my phone

My new phone has a camera and mp3 player in it. Since I usually have it on me and it has a lot of memory, I take a lot of mediocre snapshots with it. And every once in a while, when I synchronize my music, a bunch of new photos and movies appear in iPhoto. So I'm posting more pictures and movies here, but they are lower quality.

Here are a few things I found on my phone today.

Saturday we had dinner at Jenny and Matt's along with Jen and her son Adam. Daniel and Christopher cleaned up the extra food from the little table where Adam and Abby were eating. Here they are fighting over the last of the grapes.

And in case it wasn't clear how Christopher feels about grapes:

A clip of Christopher "reading" to himself.

This clip is up on JayCut. It seems that I figured out how to post clips from there. I'm still undecided on which I'm sticking with long term, but I do like that JayCut will let you download clips easily if you want.

Hoodsie Cup

Christopher played with some ice cream after dinner last night.

He's not a big fan of the stuff right now. We had him at the grocery store last week when all the samples were out and he kept going back for the hummus and cheddar. He had no interest in the ice cream.

This clip isn't hosted on YouTube. I discovered a couple sites that let you upload clips and edit them online. Oddly, this is faster than using iMovie on my powerbook, because iMovie wants to convert everything to a high quality raw format for editing which is very slow. I played with JumpCut and JayCut and liked them both. The former is a Yahoo property and claimed to have a button to publish to Blogger (a Google creation). There is a button. It doesn't seem to work. JayCut lets you download edited movies, which is nice, but the provided embed URL didn't work with Blogger. I guess that's why they are both still in beta.

So, for now, I'm using Jumpcut by manually copying the URL.
